A List of Games to Play During Holiday Travel

The time is coming when the whole family packs into one car and takes a long road trip for the holidays. If you want to spend some quality time together without the radio on and without taking naps, then try playing a game while you drive. Here is a list of portable games that you can bring with you on any holiday road trip.

1. Mancala: This is the game where you try to get all your colorful stones to the opposite end of the board safely. It's a two person game that is super simple and quite addictive. This game is so small it can fit into any small backpack or large purse.

2. Poker: Poker can be played here or there, or on the go. It has never been so easy to place a bet. You can get a Folding poker table for the backseat of your vehicle and the playing cards will fit right in your pocket.

3. Hangman, Tic Tac Toe, or the Dot game: All you need is a piece of paper and a pen and you can get all the passengers playing the game.

4. Guess that song: This game is really fun to play on long road trips. Recite some lyrics of a song and get the rest of the car guessing.

5. Guess who or guess what: All you need for this game is brainpower. With as many players as possible just blurt out random things about the person or the object and the rest of the ride has to blurt out guesses.

6. The license plate game or the alphabet game: These are traditional traveling games that require little brain power but good observational skills. Simply find an object that begins with A in or outside of the car before anyone else. Move on to B, all the way to Z and you'll find yourself in the midst of a competitive car game.

Of course if you have an iPhone you can very well play any game you want with the help of the internet. But since everybody is in the car together for once, why not take the earphones out and start collaborating. Spice it up this holiday and create your own travel games. The possibilities are endless.
